Making Room for our Football Fanatic

Now that my mom has found her own place and moved out of the spare bedroom we decided it was time to move the youngest into it. The boys deserve their own rooms, right?  Besides, we don't have that many overnighters at our house and we have couches and a fold out twin ottoman if someone does decide to bless us with their presense.

So, this past weekend we decided to customize the youngest's room into a football room. He's a huge football fan and we though it fitting.

Here's the before with my husband filling screw holes.

Two coats of green paint, lots of measuring, painting lines, some stamping, four vinyl fathead stick-on football players, and one blow up goal post later, and we now have this.

We're pretty thrilled with how it turned out and our boys love it! I still need to add the endzone art but that takes a bit more preparation. I have other bits and pieces in the works also so I'll post a follow-up after all that gets done.  For now though, I hope you enjoy our weekend project.

To tide you over until next time I'll share one little thrifty project I did for this room. I picked up a lamp at the local thrift store for $2.99 and a foam nurf ball for $0.39 to add to it. I couldn't believe I found one that had the green shade. It was destiny! I switched out the bulb that was in it for a low-wattage bulb so this lamp can act as a night light. Easy peezy!

Remember your blessings!
